Apollo's pricing page is not misleading. The problem is subtler: "unlimited email credits" reads like the whole story, and what you are buying is a very good list. Whether that list turns into pipeline depends on a different piece of infrastructure, and it is usually the piece nobody budgets for until reply rates already look wrong.

The pricing shape

Apollo charges per user per month: Basic around $49, Professional around $79, and Organization around $119 on annual billing. Monthly billing runs roughly 15 to 25% higher.

Two details matter more than the headline. Organization has a three-seat minimum, so its real entry price is closer to $357 a month on annual billing rather than $119. And data credits are allocated per billing cycle and reset, so an allocation you did not use is gone rather than carried forward.

That reset is the structural counterpart of the per-seat model. You pay for capacity by headcount, monthly, whether or not that headcount consumed it, which means the efficient configuration is one where every seat sources near its allocation every month. Teams rarely work that evenly.

What the data is worth

It would be wrong to be dismissive here: Apollo's database is genuinely one of the better B2B contact sets on the market, and for a lot of teams it is the correct reason to buy. Filtering by firmographics, pulling verified business addresses, and enriching records inside one interface is real value, and the alternative of stitching together several data vendors is worse.

The caveat is decay. Contact data ages at roughly 2 to 3% a month as people change jobs, and no vendor is exempt. "Verified" means a check passed at the time it ran, not a promise about the address today.
